I had the idea and thought it would be Fun to start restoring them and bringing them back to life.

I saw a market for these in Melbourne.

Mix of old and new, vintage and customized. Possibility for personalized bikes. Every one is different every one has its own story. Artisan mechanics and buidlers in bali can do anything, takes time to make a thing of beauty.

Recent Black Custom projects

This journey began with a Binter Mercy 1981 I found in Gogja behind a chicken shed. It hadn’t been started in over 10 years, but under the dust I saw solid bone structure and solid mechanics and kick arse dials.  Through friends I found a mechanic and together we stripped her back, started tearing her down and designing the custom elements. Spare parts were given to locals who still ride the original models with pride. Being a first born bike it was a massive learning curve and journey that I loved, I agonised over every step. Like any first born, Im very proud of her. And thus Black Custom Co was born.
